I was playing my Ghia last night with a new to me G&L Legacy and was really blown away by the overdrive this amp produces. I mean really great overdrive.
I have a 1x12 combo with a Greenback and the Doc was kind enough to do a MV mod on it for me. It really smokes and bed room volumes sound fantastic.
My Monza gets crazy good saturated over drive but the Ghia also gets an awesome drive going when cranked too. It's more crunch than growl and keeps it high end shimmer going too.
I love my other amps but the more I play with Ghia the more I love it too.
Maybe I've just never noticed it before but it might be the most under rated over drive of the Z line up.

Cool, that's my Z dream, one day to open my inbox and find an email from HQ saying that your Ghia is next in line for the MV mod.

I have a Brake Lite installed in mine. Does the trick, although I'm sure MV mod is a bit more flexible.
I'm with you on the OD, Todd. I find there's a spot around 1:30 or so on the volume knob that just kicks the amp up a notch with my main guitars.

Maybe that amp likes single coils and that's why your likeing it so much.

I have the brake-lite installed in mine, I just love how easily the MV is accessible on my Therapy and Remedy. Regardless, the ghia is permanent fixture for me, pretty much have the V set between 1 and 2

Love my Anni. for that same reason! Every time I think about selling it to fund a Z-Lux I plug in, nope it stays.
