So I finally received my CG from Reverb (absolute STEAL) and I was super excited. Then I removed the bubble wrap from the cavity.... Teensy bit upset. I absolutely HATE it when people just shove bubble wrap in the cavity of amps, head or combo. Hopefully nothing was pulled loose, but I'm definitely going to get a partial refund to take this to a local amp tech... Really doubt I could get the guy to refund me enough to send it in to the good Doctor himself considering what I paid for it.

I would send a note to Reverb re this situation along with any pics - the one or two times I've dealt with them re issues they were great at responding and taking care of it. Once everything is put back together and you see if the amp works let us know here, as well as Reverb, but if it does need attention just email the Z shop and they will get you fixed up better than new. Congrats on a great amp though, and welcome to the forum!!

Wow - I've gotten amps that were shipped to me with a slight transformer tilt , but that's just bad. Good luck with everything.

I received a box of thick, steel mounting brackets for my Kubota "front-end loader" (front-bucket) tractor last week. The box looked like the USPS drove one of their semi's over it. I had to cut two of the damaged bracket mounts apart with a chop-saw and a torch, then straighten them with a torch, hand sledge, and anvil, and then weld them back together. Took about 3 hours. I couldn't BELIEVE a mailing service could damage heavy weld-formed brackets made out 1/4" and 3/8" steel, but the good ole USPS surely proved me wrong...

Already contacted Reverb. Also contacted Fedex but even if they were to say the screwed up they would only pay out to the seller unless the seller gives written verification that they can pay me. Here are some more pictures... Local tech tried to say that can happen if it's dropped really hard but I can't see that much damage happening from a drop.

Holy crap, that's a "little bit" messed up. Really hope the seller and/or Reverb take care of you on that one.

Reverb has offered to intervene if I don't hear back from the seller tomorrow. I'm going to try my hardest to talk them into a partial refund... i couldn't get a Ghia for anywhere near this price again haha.

I suspect it went off a conveyor and landed upside down. From about 6 feet.

Oh, Brother.... let me tell you.....The beautiful factory welds held perfectly, and were a b!tch to cut thru. But the flat 1/4" plate between the welds looked like it had been sandwiched between a Mack Truck and a brick wall....twisted, torqued, and bent (good band name there)......

THAT SUCKS. Good luck, brother...that one literally took my breath away. I agree with Brit, looks like it fell from a conveyor system. Whatever the cause, I hope you get satisfaction. I kind of doubt if good packing would have helped that one. Ouch.

Ah, I completely misinterpreted your original post. I apologize. My imagination is pretty much shot after having prints at my fingertips for a few years. I was thinking they were just single bend brackets that you had to cut. Sounds like you need a plasma cutter! They can actually be had for fairly cheap, at least one for small welds like that. 1/4" steel doesn't bend easy... Even the cheap A36 stuff. And if Kubota is anything like CAT and the other heavy equipment guys, they might use proprietary chemistries for their metals. Hopefully all the work hasn't embrittled your brackets.

. Hopefully all the work hasn't embrittled your brackets. My fears exactly. Fortunately, the pieces aren't load bearing (shear force). ( Sorry to hijack your thread with my crap here.....)

No worries man! it's pretty much what I do on a day to day basis anyways. If you've got an annealing oven you could always try a heat treat with a slow cool down.

What a bummer! I had that happen with a brand new Laney Lionheart cabinet that came from the factory. I know how this feels.
The sad part is it never has to happen. Reverb has a video that explains in detail how to ship an amp. I recently sold my Laney L50H head (50 lbs!)and followed the directions exactly. It arrived in perfect condition.
Hope it gets solved!

One really reputable tech in my area is guessing about 1-2 hours of work to make the transformer mountable and check out the guts. Taking it to a tech on Saturday for him to look it over and give me another estimate. Hoping I don't have to try and scavenge for a Hammond transformer...

Ended up shipping it back today.. One of the techs said he could look it over and it may sound fine but he couldn't say whether it would sound correct. And I really didn't want to spend another chunk of money just to send it Dr Z to get fixed up because I thought I was purchasing a working amp.. Hated to do it but the Gribble in me just couldn't keep it and fix it.

It's probably the best solution. It wasn't your responsibility.
Hope for better things to come!
