I was just at band practice and after a guitar solo the z wreck just died completely. This one is less than a year old, but it's been played a lot. There is literally no sound, not even speaker noise or pops when in plug a cable in and out.
Obvious suspect are tunes. All of them were still lit up orange it didn't look like any were dead but I don't have much experience with the inner workings of amps and their parts.
I won't be able to hit up the shop where I bought it until Monday. Any ideas? It was brand new so the warranty is still good but I may not have time to send it to the Doc.
Thanks!

Here's the link about how to trouble shoot it. You may be able to skip parts of it. My first guess if everything lights up is that it is the phase inverter. The 12AX7 closest to the power tubes, but it could be any one. Next guess would be first 12Ax7, farthest from power tubes. drzamps.com/info/faq-troubleshoot/

I'd almost try replacing that first.

Brightlight, The fuse has most likely popped as a result of the Rectifier tube failing, so grab a couple of fuses as well.

My guess, a blown fuse... Result of a bad tube? Maybe

Same thing happened to one of my other non-z amps that starts with "m"... Lol blew a fuse, bad tube I assume, still haven't bothered fixing it yet...

If the fuse is popped, definitely replace that rectifier. That was the culprit on my Ghia a month or so ago. New rectifier and fuse (be sure you get the right fuse) and the Ghia has been running fine ever since.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. So I finally got to take it to the local z dealer here in upstate New York and he narrowed the problem down to the speaker voice coil having opened and the speaker therfore being shot. Thankfully Celestion has a 2 year warranty and they are replacing the speaker for free!

Wow! What a puzzle. I missed considering that from the original symptoms.
Glad you worked it out.

Man....I would've never thought of that as the culprit! Glad you have the problem solved.

Now that I know what the problem was in trying to figure out what could have caused this. At the moment it happened I was running my 335 into the green side of the z drive and the wreck only at about 11 o'clock on the volume with the brake lite on 1 click (so fairly loud). But i think amps have handled harder things.
Apparently one cause of voice coils opening up in speakers is an overheating of the adhesives that hold certain speaker components together. Could an attenuator cause this? Or is this more likely a factory flaw in the speaker that was just waiting to show manifest? I'm using the stock alnico gold that the combo comes with.

I think it was a factory defect , the coil winding might have been wound a bit eccentric and shorted after some use.
