Other than playing through them, are there other ways and recommendations to break in new speakers in a Maz18j 210?
I thought I recall someone saying you can play a radio or iPod through them but they have to be really cranked. Is that correct?

I think from what Ive read and heard they just have to move with sound , I kinda like the old fashion way myself

Yeah, definitely some truth in the fact that they just have to be played for a while to really loosen up. One trick that can help the process is by turning the treble all the way down, bass all the way up, then playing your guitar on the bridge pickup as loud as you can for a while. This seems to help get it broken in as much as anything, but it's true that they do sound better after a few gigs.

I would agree the best way is by playing. Thanks for the tip on the treble/bass settings and the bridge pickup.
Dr.Z prescribes 60 hours in the manual that came with the amp. I was just trying to see if I could accelerate it by doing something else besides playing.
