I just got my new Carmen Ghia 1x12 and this thing screams! I used it last night at practice with a drummer and the volume was only 1/4 of the way up and it was plenty loud and way more clean headroom then I thought. It is so simple and easy to a great tone out of this thing. Love it!!!!

Well I have a Trecker Classic '57 strat style with a humbucker in the bridge and around 10 on the tone knob with the drummer and bass player I was cutting through perfectly. Still have to do some tweaking on my pedals.

The Ghia was my first love....and easily could have been my one and only. CONGRATS on that sweet amp. What color? What speaker?

Thank! It's black with the z wreck grill and it has a green back in it.

The Greenback is my favorite speaker. (Even though I have a 10" gold in my Ghia)
If you ever need it, there are louder speakers out there. (Louder for a given amount of power)

25th Anni is my first Ghia, its just awesome. Which greenback? Been wondering what model everyone preferred. Enjoy! Normally, when someone says 'greenback', they're referring to the 98db, 25 watt 'reissue' greenback. The one you can walk into any music store and buy. There is also the 'Heritage' greenback, a 20 watt speaker that's supposed to be closer to the mid 60's greenbacks. It's a lot more expensive and only 96db...and it's pretty rare. (Great for cutting back on volume if needed) It's also the same thing as the celestion EVH speaker. The EVH just has that ugly multi colored plastic magnet cover. There have been other celestion speakers out there over the years that have a green magnet cover, but they're not considered the 'greenback'. I've had the reissues, I've had the Heritage. And I also have the reissue clone from WGS...the Green Beret. If I needed to buy a greenback type speaker now...I'd get the WGS. Sounds great and it's a LOT cheaper.

Thanks for the info. Had been wondering if the heritage was worth the extra investment.

I need a good overdrive pedal to go along with my tube screamer. I love my clean setting, the tube screamer gives me my rhythm grit and lightly tones but I'm needing something heavier for the more modern country style. Can anyone help me? I'm on a limited budget…

From my knowledge of a tube screamer, I would have thought that would have been your heavy modern country pedal...not rhythm grit.

I'm on a limited budget… I always paired my TS with a boost pedal. Together they seemed to be made for each other.

It's flat out amazing what two control knobs can do, isn't it? Love that amp.

No doubt it's amazing what two knobs can do! I couldn't be happier, I just used it in the studio yesterday and it went from Clean to heavy overdrive for a southern rock record I'm cutting.
