It's here it's here, it's here ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D The Stingray I bought from Steve (guitarman1) was just dropped off at my door, can't wait to play it. It is a little cold, so I am letting it warm up some before i fire it up, can't wait. Now I need some Celestion blues, or a Gold, GAS creates GAS

Finally taking a break, I have been playing for about 4 hours now and this amp is amazing. The sound is amazing, rich and full of sweet sustaining tones. I hooked up my tele and found tones I never new could come out of it. I literally closed my eyes and listened as if it was someone else playing. I was totally lost in tones I had never heard before. My girlfriend, who was a bit miffed with another amp showing up, described it as "music wrapped in silk". I have never owned a VOX but now I know what people say when they speak of "chime" and "sparkle". I have now played it though teles, strats, and through a few humbuckers. I don't believe a bad sound is possible, it is extremely articulate. I have noticed that it is very sensitive to tone setting on guitar, and very sensitive to humbucker vs. single coil. You can get the same sounds from a single and humbucker but it takes some adjustment to tone and cut. My milder humbuckers (fralins PAF's) sound great in the high input, my hotter humbuckers are better in the low input. It is great with pedals, every OD, delay, and chorus sound great, although I don't think chorus is needed with this amp, it has a 3D effect all on it's own. A couple of times I checked to see if I had left the chorus on. My bandmate is on his way with a 335 and a set of blues and a gold. This is going to be an all nighter. After we play it on it's own with the blues, I am going to team it up with the RXES and maybe the GT. This amp is a gold mine.

My girlfriend... described it as "music wrapped in silk". Wrapped in silk, yes! When I first heard Rockstok using his in a club, I described his tone as refined, smooth, pleasant...just really really nice! Of course it'll bark good with the right pedal ya know. Congrats & enjoy! ;D

Man I can't wait for mine even more. I can't decide of I should give you karma for the review or smite you for making me want my amp too long before I can have it. I guess I'll just be happy for a Z brother and be positive. Keep on enjoying the amp and play it for me a little.

Congratulations, you have might a wise decision. I've had mine for 6 months now and the honeymoon continues! That's rare for me, as a self-admitted amp 'ho! Now you start the fun process of trying speakers and pedals. I'll go ahead and give you my advice here. Weber Alnico Blue Dog 50W is the shizzle with this amp. I've tried a ton of pedals and have been most happy with the Xotic BB, Fulltone OCD and even the MI Audio Crunchbox (when I want to do some Van Halen.) Most say the Zendrive sounds great with this amp too, but I haven't taken the plunge yet. Good luck and enjoy the amp! The 'Rays are unbeatable at what they do.

I can confirm the Zen Drive is fantastic through the 'ray. It is pushing my BB Preamp off my board!

I can confirm the Zen Drive is fantastic through the 'ray. It is pushing my BB Preamp off my board! Well, I just bought Tim's BB (and RC, and Keeley Comp, and Love pedal). What is the wait on a Zendrive these days? I have spent all my insurance money from my gear theft now, may have to wait anyway. It was fun while it lasted, guilt free gas.

I bought mine second hand, so the wait was only three days. But it cost me more...

I noticed that, I saw a few on the bay, but going for way more than retail. Saw the Zendrive 2 as well. I think I will just wait it out, got on the list at least.

Congrats & enjoy! ;D It's an iron fist in a velvet glove. Gently when you want it, but give it the right pedal or push and it's a beast! I've never heard my Recto preamp sound so good as when I fed it to my Ray (which promptly devoured it and spit out unnecessary circuits). This amp makes everything sound good. I can't tell you how many Recto owners have contacted me based on that little youtube clips, saying:" How did you get your Recto to sound like THAT?" Clip of killer tone and sloppy playing here: The 'Ray is simply incredible, and it has a "halo effect" on all your other gear. You will never be happier with a guitar or pedal than playing it through this amp. At least, that's been my experience thus far. Justin
