I don't get it. Neo magnets are usually much smaller than their ceramic counterparts; but they put the same ol' plastic magnet-cover on it? Strange. Did they not want to visually distinguish it from the ceramic?
Also... greenbacks/creambacks (the real ones, that is--the "M" 75 Hz models) aren't terribly heavy to begin with. Why the need here? Not trying to be old-fashioned here, but I just don't see the huge need.

Well, it would be particularly helpful with weight in a 2x12 or 4x12 cab. A lot of people want super light 1x12 cabs and combos as well, so this speaker could be a great option. The fact that the price is the same certainly opens a lot of potential sales opportunities for Celestion I would guess.

If the speaker sounds the same...or close, I'm sure there will be some sonic differences, the lighter weight is the big selling point. Personally, I love the look of the magnet cover. The tiny tiny visible NEO magnet on other NEO speakers is a big turn off to me. Seems Celestion thought so too. Somebody buy one so the reviews will start flowing...

I have more information. This is from Rick (Celestion101 on TGP), and who works for Celestion.
"Regarding the tone, it's based more off of the Creamback M, however with a bit of the H in there as well. Some of the single note stuff even sounds similar to the Alnico Cream.
Backstory.....a few years ago we came up with a fix that would allow a NEO to not only sound, but also feel like a traditional guitar speaker.....it actually moves air and responds when you dig in! Unfortunately we stalled it because NEO prices went crazy for awhile, but thankfully that's all better and here we are.
We wanted it to look like a traditional speaker, or better yet, a Creamback, and it does! Nothing space age about it!
Priced the same as a G12H Creamback......Creamback tone at half the weight!
We are doing the initial production now, so it won't be a terribly long wait......and yes.....UK Built! Our new technology, along with the lower sensitivity allows them to sound and feel more vintage and laid back compared to the previous models. We think it's a game changer!
They will MAP at $169, same price as they G12H Creamback. Regarding availability, we are building them now and they should hit the USA soon! I'll post more info once have dates, etc."
