Have a M12 with a Z 10 in it and it's very nice would it be worth changing to a Red Fang, what would I gain?

The 10 is better than the twelve... Great speaker. Much like a Celestion Blue IMO, but more aggressive with tighter bottom end. It's the first ten I've owned that didn't give anything up to a twelve.

Not really looking for more volume but more warmth. How would the 10 gold compare to the Z10?

Not really looking for more volume but more warmth. How would the 10 gold compare to the Z10? For warmth I would say NO to the Red Fang, or the Gold, or the Z 10 I really liked the WGS G10 c/s...it sounded great with my Ghia and Monza and had a warmer vibe to it. For band use I have found that sometimes a speaker that feels a bit bright at home sounds great in the mix....and sometimes a sweet warm speaker that sounds great at home won't cut thru in the band. Anyhow, I'd try the WGS, BUT Save your Z 10's. LINK

I have red fangs in my Monza and my Z-28 and I love them both. They sound very large and can keep up with anything.

My M12 1x10 has a Celestion Gold and a 5AR4 rectifier. I love the clean, punchiness of the combo. I tried a 10 Red Fang and yes it is loud…just not the flavour I'm looking for. I love my little red beast and am making it work this afternoon.

I ended up trying a red fang, copper head, and Rajin Cajun before I ended my search with a WGS green beret! The green beret is very nice, it allows me to turn the amp up more and begins to break up a good bit earlier.
