Just wanted to follow up with you all. I am home from the hospital but have a pic line in my arm that goes over my heart I have to give myself antibiotics for a month 1 time everyday its in my left arm. I did get to play the Z-lux yesterday for a quick minute and that was in the 20 watt setting all I can say is this is a beautiful clean sounding amp. I really have not got a chance to really check it out like I would want to but I have to congratulate DR. Z he built a master piece of an amp. I already heard enough to know this. Once I get feeling better I will post some more thoughts on it. Thank you all for your encouragement. I appreciate it.

I finally got to crank the Z -lux up today. In the 40 watt setting. All I can say is this amp sounds fat! I was experimenting with the volume and master volume cranking one and backing down the other. I had the treble at about 4 mids at 5 and bass at 7 with those settings I was getting a real fat warm tone with both my stratocasters. I really don't see any need for pedals with this amp the tone it puts out is so pure you don't even want to mess with it. However my pedals sounded killer through it. To me it's a amp you crank up to the edge of break up and just use your guitar to get what you want out of it. Just a real fat warm 3D like tone. I love this amp it's awesome. The tremolo and reverb sounds great. I will probably never use the boost. For some reason I don't like the way it sounds. I would rather use my j rocket archer icon. But anyway this amp is incredible!

I used mine at Church without pedals last month and it sounded great. I used the boost for solos and it worked fine with the EQ cranked a bit. I am the only guitar player in my band so I have to use pedals on certain songs. It sounds great with pedals too.
I am going to buy one of the new variable boost foot switches when they become available this spring.

Dr Z plans to sell the new version footswitch separately. I'm in! You can also modify your switch; see ztalk.proboards.com/thread/56642/cool-easy-make-bypass-usableLastly, another way to partially tame the boost is to crank the eq knobs all the way up, then adjust your tone "backwards" from there.

Thanks For the Info Guys I will have to look into that once its available. I like the flexibility of being able to control the amount of boost you can get.
