For gigging, the Z-Lux currently fits all my needs, but who knows what the future may bring?

When I quit playing out, I sold most of my amps. Kept the Remedy, but you need something smaller, so I made "my last amp purchase" and got a 1x10 Ghia combo. Done... Well, then the Therapy came out, and I just LOVED the sounds I was hearing in the clips, and I'm also a big fan of the output stage configuration, so what the heck, the Therapy can be my "last amp purchase ever." Except.... The Z-Lux comes along in a lightweight combo cab with reverb AND tremolo! So now, I'm pretty sure the Z-Lux is my "last amp purchase ever." Right.

My last amp is always my last amp. And digs57: If one Z-Lux is good, then two are better.

My "last" amps status as the "last" amp is always dependent on my next overdrive pedal. Now, if I could just stop looking buying them....

All answers I surely can relate to...I guess that line does move every time doc comes out with next creation...
This I guess has a lot of "fender type" character to it and surely beyond...a good 6v6 is something I haven't had in a long time.
Being semi retired got to watch $...so its not a new amp for me every year...that's kind of the "line" for my situation...

This amp w/a Z-Drive and my SL Drive covers a lot of ground. But... When the good Dr comes out with a new amp. I have to check it out!!

When I quit playing out, I sold most of my amps. One of the benefits of being a money making gigging musician is you can justify buying new gear. New stuff is part of your tool kit, and a side benefit is they are tax write offs.
For a while, that is the line I would use with my wife: "We could use another write off this year, and this new ____________ would be the perfect way to get it." It worked for a while. Now she just says "Tell me the truth: Do we really NEED another write off or do you just have GAS?"

I have a z-lux head, maz 38 studio combo, and z28 head. My needs are covered for now. I could say these are the last amps I would buy, and I hope they are, but one can never be sure when the g.a.s. monster will rear its ugly head.

My go to amp--love it as well as the others. Fairly light, portable package with ample clean headroom and takes pedals well. Great package.

My 1968 Fender Deluxe Reverb that I got in 1971 has always been my all-time favorite amp. When I started playing again in 2009, I had it rebuilt, re-tubed and had the speaker re-coned. But I don't take it out any more.
I tried to play the 65 Reissue, but it wasn't as good as my 1968.
Enter the Z-Lux. It sounds much better than my 1968, is about the same weight, has a better speaker, better reverb and tremolo, and has a master volume, 20 or 40 watt power, and a built-in boost.
It might be the end of the line.

I bought the Therapy after a lot of online research, expecting it to be the end of the line last amp I ever buy.If it is I am satisfied,it is versatile, sounds as good as I hoped, and does everything I ask it to.If it's the only amp I own for the rest of my life I am content. But if I ever come into cash....Maz 18,Ghia,Z-lux,are all on my want list.

I once had a collection of every Blackface Fender amp ever made except for a Vibro Champ. That experience got the "amp collecting" thing out of my blood; even Z amps. Since then I've only owned amps that filled a specific need. I haven't bought anything since I acquired my JAZ a few years ago. It will do anything I need. The Z-Lux is just a slightly different variation of that amp. I suppose that if I could change from a JAZ to a Z-Lux without it costing me too much I would do that but it's just not a priority. Maybe a JAZ/Z-Lux really could be a last amp investment for some.

I can't ever remember thinking that about any amp. My tastes change over time and I also enjoy turning things over so I can try something different. I do have a couple of guitars that might be trade proof though.

I played a Twin Reverb for about 8 years and had no interest in another amp. After all that was considered the top of the line in my circles. Then channel-switching amps came into vogue and I got a Peavey Duce. I played it for about 10 years. I thought it might be my last amp but that amp finally died due to it's PCB build. I had short love affairs with several different amps until I became aware of Dr Z. My love for my JAZ isn't just because of the sound; it's also the build quality. I carry it in a flight case and I know it will outlast me. Being as pedal friendly as it is it will most likely adapt to any style I want to play; now or in the future. So yes, I wouldn't be surprised if this is my last amp.

Not unless Dr. z stops building amps! If you build them they will buy.
