Chris (Janinedoubly) and Sam (kccheers) wanted to hear my Stang Ray so I took it out to Guitar Source in Overland Park, KS today so they could hear it. While chris was playing it I took the tone control and rotated from it about 9:00 to 3:00 in time to the riff. Coolest Uni-vibe your ever heard! Z ought to figure out how to do this with a motorized pot or something. Get somebody to do it for you while you play. Tell me what you think!

Hey Bill, it was great to finally meet you. And the amp...WOW! is all I'll say.
Chris, as always one of the greatest guys around to take you thru a guitar shop.
Now, for the univibe.....I see TALLER head cabs in the future to facilitate the "vertically challened" person that Doc installs to rotate the knob from the inside.

So What did Chris and Sam think of the RAY???
oh.... I can see Chad back theres trying to turn ALL 4 of BRAD's TONE knobs at one time... to the beat during TIME WARP....
2 with one hand and his shoes off twirling 2 more with his feet... ;D ;D

Well, hearing the amp just made me feel more sure that I am gonna get a Ray head to go with my RxES head. I will probably get with Mass Street next week to get it in the works.
Bill got the 2x10 cab with his, and I really enjoyed how it sounded.....quite a tight low end. Then he stood the cab vertically and it kinda "opened up" a bit with the different projection. My Maz Jr is a 2x10 combo, so I am already a fan of that speaker setup, but they really sang with the Ray.

I dug the amp a lot! Great late 50's AC30/15 tone. I have only had one experience with a real Vox with the EF86 circuit, a gem of an AC15 from the late 50's that a local studio got a hold of for a while. I used it with a cool mid 60's SJ Special to record a few leads on a friend's demo. Great tone, pretty clean, but with all the Voxey goodness one would expect. It was one of those tone "moments" when you finally get a chance to play an amp you've only heard about. And the experience changes everything you thought about guitar sound, how things work in context and how real tone happens with your fingers and using an amp that rewards the process. The Stang has got it in spades! Loved its clean tone, great bloom and that cool Vox like top end "crinkle" that just simply makes you smile. I would've loved to try it cranked with a treble booster to hear its Brian May tone, but, oh well....Sometimes people in a retail environment don't quite appreciate the tonal nirvana that good ole fashioned VOLUME creates!! Thank you Billy and KC for allowing me the time to mess around with it while we could, you guys are princes!!!
Yeah, the Univibe thing was cool!!! Too many Z's, not enough $$$!!!
