Been getting a few requests lately to play acoustic out and about and I really don't have an acoustic suitable for gigging. I have a taylor 3/4 size guitar and an 80 year old Maybell bluesmans guitar (that sounds amazing) but nothing with a built in pickup that I can cover all the ground I need to cover...until now!
Went up to Wildwood yesterday and spent some time with a used 1yr old Gibson J35. It features spruce top, mahogany back/sides/neck, scalloped X bracing, kluson cream button tuners, rosewood board, LR Baggs Element pickup built in. Its all put together with horse-hide glue and shot with thin nitro. This has to be Henry's best idea, to create a guitar with these features for an amazing pricepoint...
this particular guitar doesn't have a mark on it anywhere. Looks like it sat in a case and was never played. sounds amazing and plays terrific. Kind of has that dry, tight sound that vintage gibby's are known for. Sounds immediately vintage. Also super balanced with a nice big low end and a shimmery top end. Was also able to get it for $600 less than a new one. Anyway, I don't have my own pics yet, but here are a couple of videos featuring the J35.

I have the same! 24 3/4 scale too! Been a great guitar for me...the tone reminds me of Z amps, kinda just in the middle. Not to much bass, mids, or treble, but plenty of all of them. Enjoy. I haven't plugged mine in yet so let me know how you like it.
Congrats.

Looked at the J-15 (price point) and I liked it as much as some of the more expensive models especially for the sound I was going for. I became intreged by the 24-¾ scale acoustics. So much so that even though I got a great deal on a Songwriter Standard Cutaway Tobacco Sunburst I couldn't keep it. I bought a Larrivee OM-3 all mahogany TSB 12 fret (like the Pete Anderson model from a few years ago). Lots of everything I was looking for. Can't go wrong buying one that really talks to you. ME
