In my 63 years, I have had the opportunity to play early every mainstream mass produced amp on the market and my favorite amp has always been a blackface Super Reverb. The last couple years I have been using a MAZ18 Jr and it has become my main gigging amp and for live performances it is hard to beat, I have always regretted that it didn't have reverb and tremolo and hoped that there would be a Z that had both. When the Z Lux came out, I pulled the trigger and never looked back.....sold three pretty nice Fender amps(not the Super) to raise some cash. Had to wait awhile for my color, but it was worth the wait and worth the price. Right out of the box, the Z Lux 1x12 combo sounded huge- big fat clean tones and the most amazing reverb and tremolo I have ever heard. The master volume gives me Super Reverb tones at living room levels and the 20/40 watt feature opens up a lot of possibilities. Throw in the boost switch and you have the complete amp! Haven't tried any pedals yet but if it is anything like my MAZ .....I can only imagine! If you play blues , rock or country and are sitting on the fence......buy this amp and don't think twice.....I am not a great guitar player , but I know a great amp when I hear one and this is it!

What color? CONGRATS of course...always fun to love a new amp It is black with black and tan grill cloth. I already had the 2x10 cabinet in that color and wanted them to match. I don't know how to post a pic but I changed my avatar to show the amp and speaker. Not the best photo but the best I could do at 5:30 am, lol.

I enjoy reading this kind of review, waiting for my Z-Lux to come. Never heard one in person, but so sure I will love it, just like I love my Maz 8 and love the Therapy... I'm selling right now (choices had to be made!)

I enjoy reading this kind of review, waiting for my Z-Lux to come. Never heard one in person, but so sure I will love it, just like I love my Maz 8 and love the Therapy... I'm selling right now (choices had to be made!) I sold a Blues Deluxe reissue, A deluxe reverb reissue, and an Excelsior just to get me a little over halfway there on the price. I don't regret it at all and have zero sellers/buyers remorse...they were all good amps but I find that I always gravitate to one favorite amp and you can only play so many amps at one time. It was a good move to consolidate to less amps taking up space in the house (which greatly pleased my wife). I still have my Super Reverb Reissue and the Maz 18 Jr. The Super stays at church, and I am worried that the Maz may be playing second fiddle to the Z Lux simply due to lack of features. Don't plan on selling it but don't plan on using it either......the Z Lux is just that good! I will be removing a reverb and tremolo pedal from my pedalboard and replacing them with something else ....maybe another delay.

I agree. In my 63 years too! Since May I have played out many times with this amp and it never works great ceases to amaze me. Stratacaster (Don Grosh), Les Paul Custom Shop, ES Les Paul, they all just kill with this AMP!!!! The last time I played out with this Amp was Saturday I brought all three guitars. Each one had their own unique voice, beautiful!

Thanks for posting this. I have had two Super Reverbs and loved them both, but the Z-Lux does the Fender thing better than Fender IMHO. It sounds better than my '67 Deluxe Reverb. I already sold my dripedge Super Reverb. I've got a sweet '91 tweed Bassman RI, and the Z-Lux kills it. My Fenders are all going to be sold except for my old '60 Princeton tweed. The Z-Lux simply makes them redundant.

I am keeping my Super because I always leave an amp set up at church plus I feel like I always need a backup around in case something happens to my main amp and I have to do without it for awhile. And.........even though the Z Lux sounds great, the super is a mighty fine amp.
