We did a gig last night in a really tough room. It was a warehouse that echoed like a reverb tank, and I couldn't hear most of the band. It's a big band, trumpets, trombones, saxes, keys, etc...and the Z-Lux was fabulous. I couldn't hear anything but the bass and drums (and me) but I managed to get balanced in the 'mix'. My wife and others in the audience said that my tone was really sweet, not too loud but cutting and warm all at once. I love this amplifier. It made a tough night easy.

People criticize us guitarists for being too gear-focused and not enough music-focused. But here's the thing - when your gear inspires you with fabulous tones, you play way outside the box. You try stuff you had no idea was in you. You come away so delighted with your performance, thinking, "I gotta get me more of that!" At this point the naysayers are scratching their heads and thinking, "Wow, that guy really CAN play."
