Bentop, I couldn't find the picture I was looking for but I think that grille may be the one that fits that the best... here is a picture of the Stingray combo that now belongs to the other guitarist in our band from wilcutts website... it's the opposite of what your talking about but it has that tan grille and maybe it will help give you an idea of what yours could look like... I think it would be "Wow!" ;D www.willcuttguitars.com/details.asp?stock_id=4454

OK, it's that Tan that I have been trying to figure out. Yeah, I think maybe you're right. That Red head/cab setup had that - but it was hard to tell in the picture if it was tan or salt/pepper. Yeah, that looks like the right color all right. Cool! Thanks for digging that out - it sure helps. I would hate to order and THEN see the one I really want!

OK another glitch. I intend to order the 2x12 open back cab, but the web page doesn't list dimensions. I just ordered Studioslips clamshell covers for both the head and the cab, but now they want me to confirm the dimensions of the cab, and I don't have it yet. AND there are no dimensions listed for that cab on the Z web page. Anyone have this cab and willing to measure it for me?

Bentop, The 2x12 open back is the EXACT same dimensions as the 2x12 combo... 27 1/2" x 22 1/8" x 10" ( the 22 1/8" Height is measured from the bottom of the rubber feet to the top of the cab) I think Dr Z uses the same cabs to make several of the open back combos and cabs to help keep costs down... and just to be sure for you, I measured mine. Jason I had a feeling that was the case! More Karma for you then! Thanks for the comeback - now I'll have the right cover for sure.

Zs cab with blues is on sale, when you buy a Stangray. That doesn't help you though 'cause you've already got a head coming I believe. Do you know what the sale is like? I'm interested in getting in on this, because I'd like to get a cab and run a Stangray head. Can I get the Z-Best loaded with 2-Celestion Blue 12's?

At my office here I can't access my old emails from home so I can't tell you specifically. I want to say head and open back 2 x 12 box with Blues is $2,499. Go to the www.drzamps.com and it might be there in 'pricing'. I just did that and that price is correct. $2,499 - head and separate cab with Celestion Blues. That's a heck of a deal! I didn't do it because I want the 2 x 10 cab. Head and 2 x 10 cab is $2,148, I'm pretty sure.

Thanks. Is that for the combo or the head and cab?

Like I said, head and separate open back 2 x 12 cab with Celestion blues = $ 2,499. ...which is pretty good considering I just paid over a grand for just the cab. I could have ordered new and waited, but then mine wouldn't have said "Stingray" on it...

Just got the 112 last night and though it sounds good, it is very bright.... at some settings way too bright to use. I've never heard a Weber but based on your collective experiences, would you all recommend the Weber 30 or 50 watter for a warmer tone as well as a safer speaker for a 30 watt amp? Thanks, Cam

The Weber alnico 50w blue dog is darker than the Weber ceramic 30w blue dog. Those are the only two Weber's I've been able to compare.

Str8arrow, Just got the 112 last night and though it sounds good, it is very bright.... at some settings way too bright to use. I've never heard a Weber but based on your collective experiences, would you all recommend the Weber 30 or 50 watter for a warmer tone as well as a safer speaker for a 30 watt amp? Thanks, Cam I would think either Weber would be pretty warm and the real BIG difference between the 30 watt/ 50 watt webers is the clean HEADROOM... if ya wanna break up a little earlier go with the 30 watt... if ya wanna it a little cleaner, louder... 50 watt..they are BOTH nice and I think they smooth the high end well... would defintely fix your problem.... also, don't think you'd have to worry about the 30 watt blowing out because you wouldn't have to turn it up nearly as loud to get to the sweet spot.... that would be a REAL nice combo... as would the 50 watter which may be a LITTLE darker/ warmer than the 30 watt like Madison said... but not much. big difference that I could tell is the Headroom you prefer... on a side note...IF that celestion Blue is a pretty new speaker and I think it is from your other post... there is a REAL IMPORTANT BREAK-IN PERIOD for that Celestion Blue speaker... you MIGHT wanna play with it a little while and see if it doesn't settle in, cause they really DO that... I've actually heard my other guitar players Stingray combo REALLY change after about a month when the Blues loosened up and I STILL think his is sounding better/ breaking in!!! wonderful sounding combo amp.... and I use the 50 watt webers... equally wonderful to ME! hope this helps... Jason

FYI: I just put a Celestion Blue and an Emi Tonker in a 2x12 open back cab and I am quite surprised how good it sounds. I would have never thought these to speakers would work well together, and generally don't like mixing speakers. Niether speaker is dominate and they compliment each others strengths & weaknesses. I only did this because I wanted to see how a Blue would work with my Stingray and didn't want to spring to 2 of them until I could try one.
I'm really shocked how good they sound. I guess I'll let the Blue break in before I buy another, although I'm very happy with the current setup.
