Hi all!! I'm picking up my first Z today, a Maz 38 Invasion. I'm totally stoked. I've read about the differences between these Invasion models and current Maz 38 Sr. but what I'm wondering is about the difference (if there is any) between the presence control and the newer "cut" control. I've read that the presence control is going to add in a little negative feedback and thereby roll off highs as you move clockwise, but from the descriptions of the cut knob, they seem very similar in results, but perhaps achieve it in different ways. Any better explanation or more accurate if I'm completely wrong!?
Just curious!! Can't wait to get my hands on the amp!!
Thanks. John

I've got one on the way as well - it's from 1994.
Here's what Doc has to say about the Maz 38 differences:
MAZ 38's are in their third version.
Version 1: 1990 to appox 1999 Original MAZ's were named ( i.e. Invasion, Studio Deluxe, Studio Lead , and so on ) they had Vertical input jacks, negative feedback, and a Presence control, a bit on the cleaner side.
Version 2 : 2000 to 2010 Horizontal input jacks, hotter PI with no NFB, a CUT control, and now all called MAZ Seniors. A bit dirtier.
Version 3 : 2011 to Present UL/ETL certified, back to Vert. input jacks, EQ boost and Effects Loop standard, detachable IEC power cords, many tweaks to the tone of the amp, and new Reverb tubs.
