Can anybody advise me what size of female spade connectors I would need for making some longer speaker leads? The nice people at the Eminence website have some great tech info, stating the male terminal on the speaker itself at 0.205". However, when I do a search online, I can find very virtually nothing relating to this dimension. Is there a nomenclature I should be aware of, fraction sizing or are they just metric?

I've got a bag full of spade speaker connectors I got from Mojo. It went down something like this . . . .I thought I ordered 4, and I got about 4 dozen! Shoot me your address and I'll send you a half-dozen, or so.

What you need are pre-insulated crimp connector terminals: female spade connector, for tab Width 6.3mm (.248") This gives you about .02" per side "clearance" for easy on-off. Red Insulation: Conductor size 22-16awg Blue Insulation: Conductor size 16-14awg Yellow Insulation: Conductor size 12-10awg You can usually find plenty of 'em at the local hardware store.

Hey Thanks guys for the quick replies. I do have a jamjar full of blue, red and yellow preinsulated ones and they all appear to be 1/4" in size but they are way too loose. And thank you for your kind offer Ches, I really appreciate that but I may have a workaround. I visited www.tubeampdoctor.com, they seem to stock them but they also have an inline female/female adaptor that locks. link
I will place an order there along with a few other accessories and spares I could be doing with. Many Thanks

You can crimp the connector down a tad with pliers, but it doesn't take much pressure to close them enough to hold onto the spade. You might want to try that before you order more of the same size. If you crimp them too tight, just use a thin flathead screwdriver to open them up a tad.

I would't use spade to extend the length use butt connectors you will get a better connection blues should be fine ... but if you must use spade I would solder them together to get a better connection or better yet just make a new cable of the desired length
