How many have you guys got the head? I'm guessing most have gone for the combo. Coming from a remedy head and cab the sound i get is huge and spreads well in a band scenario. I also have a brunetti combo (fender deluxe type) and the combo lacks omph and i think it must be the design of the cab? here is a review although i have the 35w www.premierguitar.com/articles/Brunetti_Singleman_Amp_ReviewAre Lux owners thinking they would rather own the head and cab instead? Whats it like practicing a bedroom levels? As its not a master volume like the therapy can you still get good breakup tones low down? Boost function practical?

I bought the head and absolutely love it. I have it paired with a 2-10 cab with a gold and a dr z speaker. Also run it in a drz 1-12 cab with a celestion gold. Both cabs sound wonderful. I have not gigged the head yet but have no doubt it would sound great in band scenario.
There are some posts here of people playing through the lux although I cannot remember if any of them is in a band situation.
It sounds great to me at any level, takes pedals very well. I get my overdrive with pedals. Awesome amp IMO.

thats great. Seems like there is a lot of clean headroom and its hard to get it to breakup?
How would you compare it to your maz 38?

whole different flavor than the maz. The maz also has quite a bit of headroom, but I would describe it as more chimey. It has a vox feel to it where to me the lux is more blackface. I love having the trem and reverb, my maz is a non reverb model. The maz is my gigging amp and I have gigged it a few years and love it. Have not gigged the lux yet, but plan to.
I have got the lux to breakup by putting it on the 20 watt setting and turning the boost on. I am not a fan of this setting. I like to get my distortion from pedals and the lux and maz both take pedals really well. I prefer an amp with ample headroom for the clean and then use pedals for distortion. Never have been a fan of two channel amps, but that is just me.

I got the head, in the end I rather have the combo I think. Right now it's running into a Bob Burt 2-12 with old Celestion Black backs. Sounds huge.
