Until today I have been the proud owner of 1 Dr. Z, A Red Carmen Ghia with salt and pepper grill cloth. in 4 - 5 weeks I will be the proud owner of 2 Dr. Z amps. I just pulled the trigger on a red Z-Lux with ZW grill cloth and SA Brake Lite from Humbucker. This is going to be the longest month of my life. damn, I just realized, I'm going to have to send my Ghia back to the Doc to have the grill cloth changed out so they match.

Congrats on the new amp. As for the matching; it won't affect the tone if they don't match. While it is nice, I think matching is highly overrated. Enjoy the new rig. It should be fun.

You can just pull the grill frame out and send that; it's extra easy if your Ghia is a head but if not, even a klutz like me can do it. It's pretty intuitive. Yes, this will be a long month, but oh brother, when it comes in it will have been worth every minute-trust me! The clips just give you a hint of this amp's goodness!

Congrats!
Z-Lux and Ghia will give you tons of tones. Even though the Z-Lux has more knobs, it's still easy to dial in. Don't shy away from trying weird / extreme eq settings.

Hmmmm.... Do Tell.... What are some of the favorites that you have found.
I guess I'm going to be living vicariously through you guys for 4 - 5 weeks. I literally had a hard time getting to sleep last night. Kinda like a kid the night before Christmas.
Is there a 12 step program for this Dis-Z-Ease. Tone Junkies Anonymous???

Hard to pick any one setting. If I'm thinking of using the boost (aka eq bypass) I do usually set mid and treble up pretty high, then dial in the bass. That lowers the differential between boosted and unboosted volume. Last gig needed clean sound with accommodation for pedals, so I kept Volume around 10:30 and had Master about noon. I was outside and kept it at 20 watts. Plenty of stage volume. Thinking of trying something different for the next bar gig, probably involving higher Volume and less pedal usage.

Have not gigged mine yet. I am finding that I like the master up 3/4 or full on, and volume to taste. Running treble around 11, mid around 10 and bass around 9. Full power, reverb off (I use delay) trem settings-speed around 1 and depth around 11. I like having a big clean platform(which this amp provides in spades) and using my pedals for overdrive, distortion etc.
I am really in awe of this amp. Love the sounds coming out of my 1-12 cab with celestion gold. Mine is a head and I understand the combo is loaded with an eminence speaker. Would like to try that speaker for comparison but like the way the gold sounds.
Would love to hear your review when yours arrives. It is going to be an anxious wait for you, but IMO you will be thrilled when you fire it up.

Thank you for your review. I am really looking forward to the arrival of this amp. I will definitely post my review once I get it and have enough time to do some exploring.
Cheers.

My sponsor isn't going to be happy with me. I went straight from Step 1 to Step 12.

No MAZ JR with reverb? No wonder the program doesn't work...it's missing a step.
