W/Bob Saxton, a jazz guitarist from Laurel, Mississippi, won the "Merle Travis National Thumb Pickers Contest" for two years (1995 and 1998).

That's amazing. I can't even begin to imagine how someone plays like that. I'm pretty sure my brain will not function that way.

Glad you guy's enjoyed. Scotty is an amazing player. There's 5 or 6 videos of him and Bob doing standards and every one of them leave me awe-struck. I'm only about 4 hrs from Bob's home of Laurel, Ms. Oh what would I give to have spent some time learning from Bob, he is such a tasty player in his own right.
I can tell that Scotty has spent countless hours studying Eldon Shamblin's rhythmic stylings. Eldon was the backbone of Bob Wills sound.

He plays at a small bar in Newport Ky every Wednesday night. Seen him there a few times.
The same bar is mine and my bands favorite place to play.
