Picked up a new-to-me 2000 CG head this morning. Perfect except for a scratchy volume pot. And a perfect match to the old style Z 1x12 cab I previously acquired from Paul T's estate sale. Have never owned one; have always wanted one. Played through it a little bit earlier. Love the tone from this amp. Not hard to discover early on what all the fuss is about. It gets way louder than I though it would and is much cleaner than I thought it would be, too. Happy camper here!

I discovered that the amp was actually built in 2004 (PO told me 2000). Cleaned the volume pot today and deox'd the tube sockets and input jack. Did some tube swapping and ended up putting back in the ones that came with it. This thing sounds so good. Hard to put the guitar down and walk away from it.
