About 4 months ago my 2002 Maz Jr. blew a fuse for the first time. Not sure if temperature could lead/contribute to a blown fuse, but the only thing I can think of as unusual was the temperature. It was quite cold and the amp was near an exterior door that was frequently opened. Last week I let a friend borrow my Maz and when he got it home and turned it on the fuse blew. This time the temperature was quite hot. He had the amp for a week and the fuse blew one more time. Each time (all 3)the fuse blows right away when the amp is switched on. The amp seems to work fine now but I am dreading a mid gig fuse blow. Any ideas about a probable cause? Thanks for any ideas/help Glenn

Something is causing the fuse to blow.. most likely a rectifier tube. Make sure your jr has fresh power tubes, and it doesn't hurt to try a new rectifier.. rectifiers built today can be short lived... especially if the amp is hauled around a lot.

I agree with Perryr's analysis. My Z did the exact same thing twice, 3 years ago. After a nano-second of panic, I replaced the rectifier tube and it has never happened since.

Replaced the Rectifier tube and the problem went away.... Blown Fuse Is way the hell better than a Fried Transformer!!
