Ok here it goes....
1) I love the weight. Very easy on the back.
2) While it is similar to the JAZ in a room without a band, at stage volume it has much more harmonic content. with the Master at 11:00 and the Volume at 11:00, it is clear and clean with "fur" around the edges. I say fur not hair because that is the only way to describe it. Whenever I play an old deluxe reverb it has the same thing. However the bass never got flabby like a deluxe would when it gets in its sweet spot.
3) The amp "feels" fantastic. Very easy to play while maintaining picking dynamics. Reminds me of the Zwreck on comfort.
4) While I see how it is voiced towards a Deluxe Reverb, it still sounds like a Z.
5) Overall a great amp. This may put my Zwreck and Maz in the closet for a while!

Thanks for the Deluxe reference...I play a DR based amp and I'm glad to hear the Z-lux is in that same ballpark...it makes me want one even more too!

Imo, some of what you hear is circuitry differences, and a lot of Doc's new speaker and cab. Magic!

OMG. I finally turned the Z Lux to 40 watts at a small outdoor venue. Wow, My bass player thought it was thicker than a milkshake from 1959. I have had the Lux for the whole Summer, but this is the first time I turned it up to 40 watts. This amp is all sweet spot. . I use a Xotic SL drive and That gets me into the Marshall camp. I just love this amp...thanks Doc! all I need is the Z Drive.
