I've scrolled the threads and scoured youtube, but I cannot really find a satisfactory answer.
Am interested in a 25th Ann. Carmen Ghia (I'm STRICTLY bedroom player, so the master volume appeals to me). I play strictly 1970's hard rock & heavy metal with humbucker-equipped Les Pauls (490s & Burstbuckers) and occasionally some 1980s British Heavy Rock. Think of Free, Legs Diamond, The Sweet, and OF COURSE, Black Sabbath.
Strictly guitar into amp, no pedals
Is the 25th Ann. Ghia appropriate?

Love my Anni. Ghia so much! That being said it depends on how big your bedroom is. It is a good MV but not as good as a Therapy MV or the Remedy MV but better than the MAZ if that helps at all.
But for the tone you are looking to use it for it is spot on, IMO (sabbath might be a little bit of a stretch). I say pull the trigger and give it a whirl there is only 50 so they seem to hold value pretty good if it is too much.

Agreed, they're very limited in numbers and it would likely sell here on Z-talk quite easily. If you get it at a decent price and end up not liking it, you probably wouldn't lose much (if anything) by re-selling again.
More to the point of your actual question, though--I personally think that a Monza (master-volume model, it has 4 knobs not 3) would definitely be more up your alley. Truthfully, it's very much in the same "voice" as the Ghia, but you can get way more gain/overdrive/distortion. I refer to mine as a "Ghia GT," of sorts. Great little amp in a 1x10 combo, and the master volume on it is great. For your styles, I recommend the Ramrod speaker (not the Red Fang); I have this same setup.

Thank you nmz & Mark (Basement Enthusiast). I have an MV Monza (LOVE IT) 1x10 (stock speaker). I was looking for another Z (GAS is alive and well!) and I think the 25th anni looks quite nice. It seems to me that it would be more of a "warm" tone since it's got less gain/overdrive/distortion.
What is a fair price range for both buyer & seller?

Oh, whoops.. I should've read your signature--the Monza is a "rock 'n' roll beast" indeed!

Howdy,
The Ghia (with the tone knob at noon or so) would be a good choice for "All Right, Now". Last night my Tele managed to get into that middy tone neighborhood, so help me. The Celestion Blue helped. With a LP Std., your task should be eaiser and the tone more authentic. The Ghia is a blast; good luck!

Unlikely I'll be selling this amp. I really dig it. I mean tone-wise, what's not to like? I find the Monza's PPIMV a bit more effective nmz but I can see that the Ghia would not work for me without the master

Legs Diamond?
Now THERE'S a name you don't hear too often.
Technically the first rock band I ever saw. They opened up for KISS in 1976.

Oh COOL! I have always known about the big hard/heavy rock names from the '70s, but I'm on a quest for lesser-known acts. Discovered Legs Diamond, Sweet (sure everyone knows "Ballroom Blitz" but their 1st album is great, and somehow Budgie escaped my radar as well as my older Brother's ("The Best of")

Never heard of Legs Diamond but have heard of Diamond Head who were formed locally to me in UK in the late 70's. Brian Tatler is a very good guitarist check them out they are still going.

YES, YES. Diamond Head--NWOBHM. I LOVE that stuff!! Oh those were the days; the stream of good music seemed endless.
Legs Diamond was a late '70s American band, sometimes called "The American Deep Purple"--probably not, but their first album is worth a listen.

Not to derail the thread-but if you love 70's hard rock especially Sabbath, check out DUST-Marky Ramones heavy JHP/Creem ish band from 71-72.There was a band from Sweden about 10 years ago called Witchcraft that put out some very period correct retro stuff-the album I have by them is called Firewood.IDK if they are still active. Also from Sweden,Opeth play usually proggy death metal, but did a more mellow retro album called Damnation. The Opeth song 'in my time of need' is an all time favorite of mine. The chorus is especially beautiful.
