Wow, you take the FAT Maz Jr settings, add in the Zen Drive, and substitute the Grosh Retro Classic VT (Tele) and a great backing track and you got Maz ZEN, baby! Setup: Grosh Retro Classic VT (Tele)(bridge pup) > Zen Drive > Maz Jr. > Alnico Tone Tubby Volume: Dimed Treble: 9 o'clock Middle: Noon Bass: Dimed Master: 8 o'clock Cut: Noon Backing track from TGP MazZen.mp3 (dry) MazZen2.mp3 (reverb added)

Yo! That's rockin' baby! Cool tune to listen to while drinking my morning coffee. The foot is a tappin'.
Looking at your settings and the tone tubby, I wouldn't think you would sound like you do, although it is the bridge pickup. That's a nice fat sound. Full. Not muddy.

Great tone! Is the Zen comparable to the BB? It sounds like it. amazing that's a Tele too! Well I have both here. The Zen lives on my pedal board. The BB used to. But really, they are both very good. The BB is more Marshally sounding, while I think the Zen has its own character.

WOW! Great playin' and tone....serious tone. Like you, my Zendrive stays on the board. These may be your best clips yet. Gee thanks. I have a real problem here because my favorite Z amp is the Stingray, except when it's the RXES, or the Mazerati GT, or the RX Jr or the Maz Jr. When it's time to play I can't make up my mind!

Beautiful tone. I can't believe how much a Z aholic I've become. Tones and playing like yours that feed the addiction.

I rarely ever comment on the clips I've heard here only because seldom do they make me want to crack a beer and crank the volume! This clip however has sent me to the store for more beer and it's only 8:30 am!! Great sound and playing benttop, keep'em coming!!

Oh man Steve!
That is great tone! I really dig your playing. I might have to get a Zen for my RX ES, but there's no sense getting anything before an Air Brake.
Very natural sounding, too. If I didn't know you were using the Zen, I'd think it was just guitar > Maz > speaker cab. Love that Billy Gibbons pinch harmonic after the break (around 0:58 or so?).
Thanks for posting, great stuff.

damn STEVE, That TONE TUBBY sounds like pure "VIRGINIA MOLASSES" with a little "FATBACK AND GRITS" scattered on top of it! Its confirmed I have been talking to Steve about his take on the C-BLUE, C-GOLD, WEBER CALI/ALNICO and of course the "TONE TUBBY" ALNICO! GUESS WHICH SPEAKER STEVE aka., benttop likes the most! YEAH! I am gonna splurge and snag myself a "TT" to transplant into my MAZ-JR/NR-1X12 COMBO! ;D Thanks for posting these clips STEVE they definitely helped cinch my decision on going with one of the TONE TUBBY's for sure!!

Heh! Thanks guys, I appreciate it. The Zen Drive is a very cool pedal for sure. That surely doesn't diminish how cool other pedals are though - I still have my BB Preamp and still use it too. But I know what you're saying - the Zen Drive really has an organic sound compared to many stomp boxes. It really sounds like it's part of the amp. That's one of the coolest things of all with this pedal. As always, YMMV.

Great work as always. You never disappoint this listener and GuitarZ is right - the tune goes well with your morning coffee.
Now if we're voting on the wet or dry version, I'd have to go with no reverb this time and I'm addicted to verb myself. Dry just works with this tone and tune.

I put both up because after I listened to the one with Reverb it just wasn't doing it for me. Maybe a different kind of reverb or less of it, or maybe delay or who knows. I always think that dry won't be as interesting, but here's a case where I think it works better. Thanks for the comment!

Steve you're killing me. I've got to get a Zen. I was GASing enough as it was before listening to your clips. Nice playing. I'll have one (backup) for sale in about a week. Killer pedal. I only use my Zen and Keeley BD-2 now. The other pedals are gatherin' dust.
