I was at the 2008 NAMM show working with Curt Mangan Strings. I had the good fortune to meet Ben Lacy at the 2007 NAMM. We had the incredible opportunity to have Ben Lacy and Jay Roberts (Howard Roberts son) stop by our booth and play a 45 minute set. This video was recorded somewhere in the show. The musical performance is outstanding. I want to share this with you.
The next one is a short clip of Ben doing a solo at Curt Mangans booth.
Enjoy! Rick

I worked my way through University of Kentucky working at the local Willis Music. Ben dropped in on occasion and it was always a gas. What you don't see in that video is that Ben is a great person, humble, nice, helping, always teaching, always learning. Really special, as the video shows.
I watched him in a number of Lexington-area bands, one of the most interesting of which was an Alice in Chains tribute. Guess what, he nailed Cantrell's unique vibrato, chunky attack, etc. He can play some crazy metal too, although I think he's moved away from that style. One of the best guitar players I had the pleasure of being in the same room with.
