Hey guys,
I was just curious if any of y'all knew. I know most modern 6v6's are 14 watt tubes, except for the Reissue Tung-Sols which are 12 watt tubes. Sometime in the next month or so, I'm planning on retubing my Z28 with a pair of NOS Westinghouse Marconi coke bottle 6v6's that I bought a while back. I was wanting to know if most of your NOS 6v6's are 14 watters or 12 watters. The Westinghouse Marconi's specifically.
Thanks for any help you might be able to provide!

Here is what I found on NOS at Tube World
(6V6GT = 12 watt max plate dissipation) (6V6GTA = 6V6VT with 14 watt max plate dissipation and w/controlled warmup time) (6V6GTY have a brown micanol base)
Hope that helps.

I knew that the main difference is that the "G"'s are the coke bottles and the "GT"'s are the straight tubes. Glad to hear that they are similar. Thanks for the assistance!! The thing I like about this board, always willing to help!

No problem. I knew my countless hours surfing the net and reading books would pay off some day.

If your Z28 is a combo rather than a head, you may not want to use an ST style tube. They would be more prone to vibration and possibly earlier tube failure. YMMV.
