I just received a Monza I bought used. I can tell just by listening it's not right. Tubes are Cheap enough. Does anyone use the Tube store packages offered through the Z website? Thank YA

There's a link from the Dr. z website to the Tube Store. Knowing how picky Doc is with his sound my bet is that if he weren't 100% confident of their abilities he wouldn't have the link there. Must be good!
Is the light actually broken or just burned out? If you order tubes you can get a replacement bulb (or jewel if it's broken) from them at the same time.

Guess I should have played around with it first. I took off the Jewell cover and in attempting to get the Bulb out. It turned back on. So it must have been loose I guess I should have taken the back of amp off as well. Good thing I didn't start a fire. The person I bought it from had taken what appears to be an old cover and padded the bulbs to ship. Never said anything about it so it never occurred to me. I had some spare Sovtek 12AX7's so I was going to swap tubes to see what happened. But after taking his padding out it sounds fine. This makes me feel better because I bought the amp with the idea it had low hours > So was surprised at having to replace tubes . Why he never mentioned the padding he installed one only knows. Good thing it sounded so bad.

It would have smelled bad! I'm sure it would have. I only hit 3 Chords . It didn't sound right so I turned it off. I spoke with the guy today and he replied that he'd forgotten to tell me. He padded it for obvious reasons. It sounds Great now. Just not sure I need it along with the Therapy and M-12( Perfect Clean Amp)

Just not sure I need it along with the Therapy and M-12( Perfect Clean Amp) Give it a little time... it took me a while to fall in love with mine...I liked it right away but after a while I loved it and it sounded great with the Therapy...Using it with the M12 in a wet/dry set up would make you very, very happy...Your Therapy as the main amp and the Monza/M12 dry/wet set up for leads.... O baby. Of course I'm getting rid of the extra stuff these days so I do understand ... but the Monza/Ghia dry/wet set up I had going for a while was dad gum'd sweet'r than jus' about anything I've ever played before. Super Lush. It helped me love my Monza when I accepted it like the big 20 watt Fuzz pedal it sorta is.

What Simpleton says is true! I love my Monza more every time I play it, and it really rocks as a wet/dry rig like he says. I've got an A/B switch on my pedalboard that I use to select between the two amps.
