Yeah, she probably would. How quiet will the MV go? Very usable, no brainer in my opinion. Almost as good as the Therapy and better then the Anni. Ghia MV. And if you do not like it I think it would be easier to sell. Interesting. I got about 5 minutes on a Therapy over the holidays. Had the master rolled way back. It was darn quiet. Need to decide whether it's a keeper or not before sinking more$ into it. Thinking yes right now, butchaneverknow.

I can't imagine having mine without the MV. It's absolutely crucial to me. But I also don't have a Z-brake or anything. Glad you're loving the amp!

Yeah, that's my initial impression- a (much) more muscular Ghia, minus the bright, chiminess from the EL84s. So far, so good. Funny thing - I was telling my wife how I liked it, and was glad it wasn't massively loud, and she cut me off with "Uh, that was pretty loud." Me:"Louder than usual?" Her: "Yup." Hmmm... REALLY??? Like a Ghia but more muscular ? .... I really need to get a chance to hear all these dad gum amps. I'd like to get something besides the EL84 power tube amps I have...Remedy, Therapy, JAZ 20/40...Route 66 even maybe....but I just keep telling myself," I'm happy, I'm happy, I'm happy" I am happy with my stereo rig (CG25th/Monza) but sometimes I think of trading them in for one of the ones with the 20/40 power rating or just a few more watts. At least you have a basement bro, I have to play in the living room - BUT most the time my lovelies like it !! OK, here's a quick demo of what I'm getting at re: sounding like a really thick Ghia. All knobs at noon, no pedals. Grosh ElectraJet straight into Remedy into a 1x12 open back cab with a G12M Creamback. I recorded the audio in Logic with a SM57. No effects at all were applied. You're not hearing any of the crappy camera audio, which is good and bad - you're hearing what the mic hears, not what my ears hear. But, its close enough, and the camera mic was picking up the strings pretty loudly, which annoyed me. You can see how easily it cleans up with the volume knob. I'll do this again with the Ghia when I get around to it.

Ummm seeing this means I will immediately need to go play the tar out of my Ghia/Monza setup and wash my ear holes out. Sounded awesome and like I could wasted entire segments of the given year with said amp and guitar. Cool Grosh too.
Hope it fits the family.

Thanks, bud!
I think it's going to work out volume-wise, whether by attenuator or MV mod. And, it's a different voice altogether, compared to my other amps, which will be great for recording, which is my main thing these days. Too much going on with work, wife, kid, other crap to be much use in a band setting these days. I'm very much ok with that. Lots of music, no band drama.
I've watched your ambient stuff, and dig- the Ghia is a fantastic amp. I'll admit to knowing a bit less about the Monza, but knowing the doc makes it, it probably kills in its own way!

I've been running the Ghia with my delay and modulation and the Monza dry in stereo .... You should try that with the Ghia / Remedy or Ghia / Swart . It's a great way to whittle months away in the musical saga. The Stereo thing has me hooked for at home playing. I'll have my Ditto looper running only thru the Ghia and the Monza separate so I can solo over the Ghia....well that doesn't ever really get boring to me as it's how I've learned to solo.
I had a Swart STR and miss the Swart sound ... I always think I would love the AST but every time I tried to get one it just never worked out. Dr Z and Swart are my two favorite companies.
