Well I'm sure you guys are getting your fill of me lately, but hey, at least I'm getting some wank time. I'd be a lot better off actually studying but I have to justify this studio gear...
Tonight I wanted to fiddle with my Mexi-Strat. I've got a new set of GFS pups in there and they are sounding pretty good to me. The guitar's not the greatest setup - I need to fiddle with it a bit to get it to "my" feel, but I'm digging the sound of these Chinese pups. I also wanted to fiddle with the chorus in the G-System to see what it sounds like. I'm pretty pleased with the tones it produces, although the recording may have a bit too much. You be the judge.
I started out just playing, and I was getting some amazing chime, so I decided to turn on the recorder and find a backing track to play against. Well this one wasn't what I'd planned at all, but every time I hear this track I'm just in love with this groove. The stupid thing is one chord the whole way through, but it's just a great groove. I'm no fusion player (as you can tell by all the clams and the pentatonics and the "little italy" wherever I can fit it) but we're having fun here!

I can see why you like the backing track - it really does have some groove. I like the tones you got. And, especially liked your sense of space and phrasing. it sounded like you were havin' a great time - thanks for sharing ;D

Pretty happening guitar Steve and a nice sound track. I don't think the chorus was overdone. Assuming GFS p'ups 'generic fender strat' pickups?
Keep them clips coming...
Thanks! GFS is a brand. I had a friend recommend them and I've been very pleased. They are designed here in the USA and made in China. Full set: $67. For three pickups. Wow! And I think they sound pretty good. I thought it was an excellent way to upgrade this Mexican Strat I have here.
premiumplus (Dave): Due or do? Which or witch? Knob or nob? Their or there? Bass or base? Too much time on my hands...

GuitarZ: Needed some noise to fill a break in a tune I'm recording. It was too quiet. Just happened to have some High Quality Dr Z Ghia noise to fill the void. "Heal Your Sound with Dr Z! It's not just a guitar tone prescription!"

GuitarZ: Must be great to be a skunk. Eating bird food about 10' from our sun room. I'm clapping and yelling. At best, it might have given me one "yea what?" look while continuing to dine. At one point, there were two skunks and two racoons.

easyed: Guitar Z, I encountered to ultimate garbage raiding combo once. We'd been having problems with the garbage cans being raided by raccoons for weeks. Late in the evening I heard rattling at the cans. I went out and found that he'd allied with a skunk. "OK"

GuitarZ: EasyEd - Someone at work topped us both. The inside of their car had been somewhat ransacked. They were blaming their son. They checked the video. It was a Bear! I'll stick with the racoons, skunks, foxes, and squirrels.

bigboki: In this age and time when everybody are struggling and especially S&Ms I am amazed to see that kind of ignorance. I am really sorry for your experience dear Dr Z but it is for the better. You don't want to do business with those kind of people anyway.

GuitarZ: Didn't want to restart the plumbing thread, so I figured I'd ShoutBox this. How the heck does cleaning the aerator on a faucet cause a leak to start under the faucet? Huh? Arggggh!!!!

The Bad Poodle Experience: well, Mike, it shouldn't have been the cause of a leak. double-check your work.

GuitarZ: I updated in the Plumbing thread that the Moen website says that a faulty aerator can cause a handle/base leak. Eiyy! I really don't understand how plumbing works. I was ready to double check all connections. But, the leaking stopped with cleaned Aerator.

GuitarZ: After finally training myself after 4 days to not bother trying to turn on the guest bathroom light because of the power outage, I just found myself bracing for the sound of the generator as I opened the garage door and it's now quiet. Power Back!
