Hi, just acquired a used non-MV Remedy. I hear great potential in it but there is an real harshness/fuzzyness to the saturation. After the usual tube swapping (it had Tung Sol output tubes, now back to known good JJ's) and various cabinets made no difference I had a peek inside and it appears at least one of the 1.2K resistors on pin 5 of the output tubes was baked. What would cause that - the Tung Sols? I am thinking of swapping all 4 of the those resistors to be sure - would 1.5K be acceptable there? I have them on hand, 1.2K would need to be ordered since they are not avail locally in 1 or 2W.
FYI, I am in Canada so I expect sending it back to the good Dr is not very practical.
Cheers!

You could always call the Z shop.

+1 on calling the shop. They will be able to tell you if the resister swap is okay. My guess is that a bad tube took out the resister. I would only change the fried resister unless the shop tells you otherwise. If you change all of them you don't know which one solved the problem if it does.
