Well, for my 100th post I decided to make a short clip to show the difference between the Weber Blue Dog and the Eminence Texas Heat. Nobody talks about the Texas Heat around here, but this gives you an idea of what it sounds like. It is very touch sensative. One clip has the Blue Dog on the left and the Texas heat on the right. The other two are just one of the speakers. The Blue Dog is in an EarCandy closed back cab and the Texas Heat is in an Avatar partial open back. The only thing I had on between the guitar and the Ghia was a Keeley compressor. The mic is a 57. I recorded them seperately, so they are a bit off at the beginning, but you get the idea. www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=501441

Nice clips kruzty, and well played Being a Weber guy, it's no surprise that to my ears, the 'dog is the far better sounding clip!

Great playing, and a great comparison +1. The weber is darker than I thought, but I think I prefer it too.

Sweet, very cool, nice pickin' ! Ok , If I plugged into that Tx Heat with my Tele I would HAVE to whip out "East down and bound" !! ;D I hear Jerry Reed big time ! I like them both, I am used to hearing Ghia/V-30 so that apeals to me with the Tx heat, but I'm after the Blue Dawg sound, Ceramic mag? Thanks for posting the new link for the "Short Bus" rider here .. LOL

Yeah, the Dog is a ceramic 50W with light dope. I also have a beam blocker installed on that cab.

I actually dig the tone of the Texas Heat. Don't think it's "worse" than the Weber, but definitely has more bite... Reminds me of something more like a Jensen C12N, maybe hot-rodded a bit. The Weber sounds more "woody" of course, given it's Greenback topology. I think both sound cool.
