After using a Mesa Boogie Express 5:25 for the last 3 yrs. I finally took the plunge and got my first Dr. Z, an M12. WHAT AN AMP! Stumbling on to this discussion board really helped solidfy my decision so thanks to everyone on here. I've only been able to plug straight into it right now as my pedal board is packed away in our band trailer but I've got a Paisley Drive and a couple of clones that I built of a Zendrive and King Of Tone that I'm dying to try out with this amp. But it does sound killer on it's own. I fear our other lead player is gonna want one this weekend after he hears mine. The hype on Dr. Z's really is justified IMHO as I have never played thru anything quite like them.

Congrats and welcome to the forum bro ! I always wanted to like the Mesa 5:25, seems like such a versatile amp, but I just never could. You see them for really cheap on CL around here....but something about plugging into a simple amp and turning it up, NOT having options and just using you fingers, guitar and ears to get what you're hearing....well that's where the magic happens to me.
Glad you're lovin' the M12, I've got an unusual attraction to that amp and every single one of these " Got an M12 and am loving it " threads is like watching some gals big ol' eyelashes going WINK WINK .
Enjoy it.

Very cool, welcome to Z-land. I use to own a 5:50 before it melted down on me at band rehearsal. It was a 2x12 combo the heavy as a tank. I have gone to head/cab pretty much from that point on.

Welcome and congrats on the amp. Look forward to hearing how you use it, what settings, etc. as you use it.

With my Mesa Boogie I was always constantly messing with the tone control from week to week, not sure if I was happy with it or not. After a few days plugged straight into my M12 you know instantly when you've found the "Z" spot. A big smile comes across your face and you can't believe an amp could possibly sound this good.
