If you would of asked me last year, I would of told you that the Carmen Ghia is the best amp I've ever played and I will never get rid of it. That was true, until I got the Remedy. Oh, how being a gear prostitute changes you...
My intention was to use the Remedy as my main amp, Ghia as backup. However, I can't seem to mix and match my cabs to my tastes. The Remedy doesn't sound good through my Z 2x10s and the Ghia doesn't sound good through the 2 - 1x12 Creamback M's. So I think I'm going to stick with my main rig as the Remedy and 2 1x12 w/Creambacks, and sell/trade away the Ghia and 2x10.
I really need something that works just as well with the creambacks as the Remedy, maybe a Maz Jr/Sr?
Anywho, since the 25ths were only a limited run of 50, I'm not sure what the going price would be. Does anyone remember seeing one in BST and remember what they were going for?

One just went on Ebay for $750 Saturday. A 25th??? 50% off retail for a limited edition under a year old doesn't sound right to me.

Granted someone got a real deal on that one - but it was the LE with MV. Probably should go for more like $1,000.

Ghia TwoGhia One$750 for one. $1200 for another. $750 seems about what Ghia heads go for on eBay. Give or take a little for age and all that. The limited editions don't seem to bring much of a premium yet from what I've seen. I wish they did.

I play my Ghia with the back off my 1x12 creamback. I do love my Maz jr with the 2x10's. We all hear things differently. That's why the doc has so many to choose. If you decide to get rid of those 2x10's I may be tempted.

Patiently waiting for your Ghia to go up for sale At $750 I'd rather just keep it I haven't tried with open cab yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to sell the 2x10.

$750 is a solid average sale price for the standard 'Ghia heads on feeBay. I can't believe that 25th Anniv. LE model went for such a price!
Keep in mind, though, that those 25th Anniv. LE's sold for $1400 new; I'd say $1000–1050 tops is what you could get for yours, if it's in mint condition. But that's pushing it on the high end, and sadly I'm still not seeing a strong market willing to pay high $$ for this stuff. Jaguarguy is usually right on the money with these things—he knows the deals and the right pricing. (Ask him about his latest deal, it'll make your jaw drop!)

I did a pretty severe gear makeover in the past 18 months and what I found to be a good yardstick in the current market for name-brand gear in great condition was 60-70% of the new price. So the $1K tops estimate above seems about right to me.
Edited to add that as a seller in this market you can't expect it to fly out the door, even at the 60-70% of new price. Someone must have really been dissapointed in the amp or needed the cash badly at $750 for the anniversery model though.

I do a lot of buying/selling/trading, and also find that 60-70% is about right. More (80% or so) if it's limited, in high demand, etc.
Trading is also a big market and I've had great success, especially in this economy where someone can't dish out $1k for a new amp or guitar, but they might have something you want of similiar value. It's just finding the right deal.

Perhaps best to keep it and try an open back with a Blue. It is my favorite rig.

Almost double his money in a week? Not gonna happen - my guess is that it will sell for $1,000 - $1,200.
