Just want to make sure I do the right thing to replace an EF86.
I'm assuming the black rubber thing covering half the tube is heatshrink. A clip from the chassis attaches to it. Also assuming it's purpose is to control vibration, if I'm wrong on anything let me know.
I'm wondering the steps to get heatshrink on another tube. Can it be removed and reused? Or perhaps I purchase some heatshrink and get out my heat gun.
Thanks in advance.

I'd say just pop the rubber cap onto the new tube and you're done ... that's what I've done anyway.

That worked! It was very stubborn and I didn't want to use excessive force. Persistent light prying and twisting paid off. Thank you.

If it's loose put a rubber band around it.
