Hello to the old faithful and some new folk as well.
It's been a while since i have created a thread.
I'm visiting the USA in just over a week and plan on purchasing another Ghia after having to sell mine a few years back.
I was just wondering if the new models with the new font/typeface all have 4/8 and 16 0hm taps or is it just the little 1x10?
I plan making a trip to Truetone Music in Santa Monica where they have a 1x10 but also have a 2x10 with Z speakers, which I'm seriously considering as well.
Cheers,
George.

The standard production Ghia's have 4 and 8 ohm taps. The 25th Anniversary limited model has a 16 ohm as well as the 4 and 8 ohm taps.

George!!! Great to see you again!
As far as I know all the "new" UL/CSA approved Ghias have only the 4 and 8 ohm taps, while the 1X10 and 25th Anniversary models had the 16 ohm tap as well.
Hopefully Doc will confirm.
Can't go wrong with any Ghia!

Ok cheers all and especially Phil for that detailed response.
I know it's been a while. I float in and out but haven't posted a thread in years. It's fantastic to see most of the same old folk that I connected with all those years ago still here.
I was planning to run the Ghia into my 16 ohm 2x12 Vox cab with alnico blues, when a little more volume is required. It looks like it can be done with the new 1x10 model but not ideal with the 2x10 that Truetone Music are also advertising. I guess I will play both when I get there and decide which way I'm going to go. I guess it all comes down to whether I like the Eminence red fang or the Dr Z 10's. I can see myself leaning toward the 1x10 though.

Welcome back groovergeorge...I think I bought a Z28 from you a few years ago.
I have a newer 1/10 Ghia and it only has the 4 and 8 ohm outputs.

All is good with me.
Like I said, I'm looking forward to coming over in less than two weeks.
This time it's going to be a little part of the east coast. I think it's about time i snagged myself another Ghia.

Hey, George, good to have you back posting. When are you in NYC? (I'm up in Westchester County.) Hey thanks mate. I'm surprised that so many of you guys still remember me. I'm feeling the brotherly love at the moment. I think we get to NYC on the 26th of June.
