Hi,
Got a 25th Anniversary Ghia a few months ago. I was playing it the other night and it worked fine, switched it off, came back to it 30 minutes later and nothing. No power to it all. I've tried all valves, including rectifier. Kettle leads swapped, just waiting for some amp fuses to arrive to see if it's that. Has anyone experienced any similar issues?
Thanks Sam

What do you mean by tried all valves?
Did you check the fuse with a multi-meter?
Start from the wall in.
Outlet->cable->fuse->rectifier->power tubes->pre amp tubes...etc.

As in what I said, I've checked everything but the the fuse on the amp which I'll be doing on Thursday.

I've for sure had that happen from time to time something goes awry ... as I'm sure you know it's typically the fuse or tubes and then off you'll go again. Usually if the fuse blows it's been a sign for me that the Rectifier tube is going bad. So when you get new fuses and put them in...all will be well until. . . it blows again. Then you'll be pretty sure that Rectifier went bad. If not, then just a fuse. Yeah.
have fun.

Rec tubes can be bad, and still light up.

Thanks Sam Hi Sam: please see my thread on my 25th anniversary Ghia also dying. I'm in the UK, so the head I play is suited to 240v mains voltage. I swapped all the valves (including the rectifier) and achieved nothing, but eventually discovered (thank you John at Peach Music) that the 500mA fuse rating stated on the back is unrealistic; I fitted a slo blo 1 amp fuse, and everything sprang back to life. I believe US models are 1 amp rated straight out of the box, but wonder if there is a similar issue with undervaluing replacement fuses? Just a thought...and might it be the presence of the master volume that has tipped the natural equilibrium of this model a few tiny degrees out of kilter?

John mentioned this so hopefully will fix the problem. Will let you know the outcome.
