I just unwrapped my brand new Ghia 1x10 combo. Before I do much I need to install my Brake Lite this evening. Then when my Gold gets here put that in (probably tomorrow). Black and tan - nice! Yeah, not red this time. The wife doesn't dig red in the living quarters where I plan to quietly plink away with this - black just doesn't look as loud. Oh BTW - these StudioSlips covers with the Z on them are NICE!

Congrats.....I'm waiting to here what you think of it. You have to give it a little test run...even if it's with the fang. On second thought....especially with the fang, so when you fire it up with the gold, you'll notice the difference.
Aside from being loud, the fang has a lower midrange bump to it.

Whoa baby! She's a rocker all right! I was able to get real nice semi-cleans with a nice fat bottom for the Strat, and it was sounding real nice. Then I plugged in the Les Paul - now that's what I'm talkin about! And with the Brake Lite in there I can dial it down quite a long ways - enough that I can practice by myself in the basement on 3 clicks and it won't bug Kathie at all. I did do a wide open test, and I also listened for that lower mid you guys have mentioned from the Fang. Yeah, I hear it. I think that lower mid would sound pretty nice with my Tele, but I haven't got that far yet. It will be interesting to compare the two different speakers for sure. Gotta take a break - not so much stamina because of my treatments, but tomorrow I won't have to unpack and haul. I think I done good.

Good score, Steve. Bet the Gold will sound really nice -- and I'm a RF-in-CG fan. Fwiw, Eric mentioned to me that he often runs his Ghia with both knobs around noon with an LP. PS: you might want to consider using the outdoor mounting tape that nicholas suggested to install the BL. Working great in my Wreck combo.

Congrats Steve. It's good therapy and just what the Dr ordered. Sounds like a great amp and am interested in your impression of the Gold verses the Red Fang.

Since I have a BL and an Airbrake, and only two Z amps here, a permanent install makes perfect sense.

I know what you are talking about with the Les Paul. I much prefer the sound I get with the Ghia than my Rt 66. The Rt 66 I like better with my Telecaster.

after two years with my ghia I've found it to be so incredibly flexible that EVERY guitar has a place in that simple tone sweep. congrats on the amp.

I plugged in an EC Strat today and was blissfully occupied for hours. I think it's just possible that I had never plugged this guitar into the Ghia since I was (and am) so enamored of how it works with the LP.

I think it's just possible that I had never plugged this guitar into the Ghia since I was (and am) so enamored of how it works with the LP. I've found that if my guitars are within reach that I'll just play on until I think I'm done and then think....well now how would x guitar sound today? Then I'll grab that one and go to it for awhile ... enjoying it until i think I'm done and then the next catches my eye. Since the Ghia is so revealing to each instruments voice I just keep getting more and more drawn in to the sounds. I just keep loving it more and more.
