OK who has a Gold in their 1x10 combo?

I see it is a couple db less sensitive than my 12" Golds, which is welcome. But how do the 10's sound in the Ghia?

I do. It's awesome! Celestion did a great job with the 10" gold.

Perhaps you haven't heard my story. (I can type fast)

Purchased the 10" Ghia combo...it came with a red fang (103db). Tried it out full volume in a large 100 person meeting room. Something just wasn't right. It was WAY too loud and there was a lower mid bump in tone. I'm playing modern country covers these days, so I wanted that signature edge of breakup tone. I researched replacement speakers and decided on the 10" gold. Installed it, went back to the same meeting room, fired it up. I played for three seconds....THREE seconds, stopped and said "That's it, that's the tone I was looking for." I could have gone home right there, but I stayed and played for quite a while, it was addicting and inspirational.

That's what I was hoping to see here. I love my Golds, but they are a bit loud. However, not as loud as the RF, so dropping back to the 10" Gold should give me about five db of relief, AND they should sound as I expect. Nice!

I was also considering:

Weber 10" Blue Pup
WGS G10C
Celestion 10" Greenback (at 95db!)

But it really came down to the gold or the Weber. I'd heard such good things about the 10" gold that I decided to go with it. It's never coming out of this combo.

I tried the Gold in my 1/10 Ghia combo when I had it and it def sounded great and lowered the overall loudness of the combo.
I love the tone of the golds. I ended putting the red fang back in mine only because it was louder for gigging.
I would love the try 3/10 golds in one of my vibro kings. That may be a future experiment down the road.
There is a Vibro King that comes with the 3 10 golds but its a maple cab its the three color tequilla sunrise version.
That amp is just two pretty and I would be paranoid about dinging it. Anyway love the Golds!
