WuZZ Zup Z-folk. I am curious if anyone on here has run a G12M Creamback 65 in a closed back cab with a Monza? I am thinking about picking one up to run parallel with my open back 1x12 cab with a G12H-30 - which btw is the AUTHORITY for the Monza IMHO. I am just looking to get a bigger sound and want to try and figure out if I should just get another 1x12 open back with a G12H-30 and be safe because I know that combo sounds awesome, or should I go with a 1x12 closed back with a Creamback-65 and see what that combo puts out?
I love what I have heard from the Creamback 65, but I feel that such a gain monster like the Monza will make it sound flabby and muddy when the gain is turned up. Conversely, my thinking is that putting a Creamback in a closed back cab and pairing it with the H30 in an open back I will get a nice mix, with the Creamback in the closed cab giving me that amazing vintage woody tone and a nice focused low end that will complement the H30 open back.
If someone can share some feedback on a Creamback(either closed or open back)paired with a Monza it will be much appreciated, otherwise I am just going to grab another H30 in an open back an call it a day because I love the way that combo handles what the Monza can give it. Much thanks!

I have played mine briefly though my Maz Studio cab which has a 65 Creamback in it. I really liked it. No flabby sound at all. I have not played through a G12H-30 and would probably like that as well as I am one of the few in this forum that like that speaker. House is empty so I think I will go fire up the Creamback and some volume. I will report back!

Ok second report. I have the MV on my Monza. At low low volumes the creamback sounds kind of fizzy. At full volume ( MV) all,the way up, it sounds really good. Overall I would say the Red Fang sounds better across the board. I think a G12 H 30 would sound pretty good. I may order a Hellatone for a cab I have if I ever wanted to stack it up! JMHO

Regardless of which amp is being used, pairing an openback H with a closed back creamback M will be quite a mismatch.
Open back cabinets are louder than closed back. On top of that, the H speaker is 100db...very loud speaker. The M is only 97db. Much quieter for a given amp. So to put a quieter 97db speaker in a (less volume) closed back...and run it in parallel with an open back H....the H will pretty much drown out the M. Not completely, but the H will be the dominate tone.
Grab another openback and put an H in there...and 'call it a day'.

Thanks for the input everyone. I just went ahead and ordered a Z-Best cab loaded with an H and a Creamback from Humbucker music and I am loving it! According to the guys at HB music that is the preferred combo of the Doc these days and primarily how they are making all the new Z-Best cabs. I think with the closed back theil-ported design, the combo of the strong lows and highs of the H mix perfectly with the sweet mids of the Creamback and result in a nice rounded out vintage tone. Great combo for the Monza, I'm in tone heaven!!

I have one in a Marshall DSL 401 combo and its closed back it does have a mesh steel vent on the top and bottom though. I like that speaker quite a bit for rock tones it just gets the job done. Loved it with the Remedy closed or open back.
