Well after a couple times trying it at rehearsal I am going to gig with the gold tonight. I usually use a g12h but really digging the gold lately. Never thought it would be a good match for some reason.
Also tried a creamback which I did not like at all. Love it with the Dote' but not the 28'. I never really liked the greenback when I had one but it had been a while. I can see it sounding good alone but with the band I was gone. Like bwc's post in the speaker section I was lost with the band.

Me too! I have one here in a box and I've been too lazy to pop it in and try it with my '28. Yes, I'm pathetic.

Man I really liked it! I had it in a shorty Z cab and might move it to a convertable cab for the next gig. Great clean and plenty of volume to push through with the band at full bore. Pedals used were Keeley wah>polytune>kot>flying dragon>supa-trem>deep blue delay>WET. Settings were vol-9, bass-9, trebile-10/11. Not too large of a room but great acoustics. Next gig is a outdoor beer pavilion I was thinking of bringing the Dote' to that show but I may reconsider.

Glad to hear it worked well for you. I am considering a Gold myself but then I have to decide which amp to put it in....AAAGH!

Then I'd have to sell some guitars to fund the speakers. The cycle never ends!

Funny this came up--I've just been playing my '28 through a Gold after a long spell of favoring the G12H30. It really sounds great--the breakup quality is killer. Amps come and go, but the '28 is a keeper for sure.

I've used 2x10's, a Gold, a Creamback with great results. It is also easy to change a rectifier, a pre amp tube, or get some nice power amp tubes to get a whole different sound. This amp truly is a keeper.
