Tony Iommi, Michael Schenker, Paul Kossoff, & Tommy Bolin have GOT to be my all-time favorites. Iommi shocked the heck out of me with "13." Yes, I know, the sound level..., but the album, WOW. I so did not want to buy it, but I love it.

I bought my first black sabbath tape from a flea market in Oklahoma. It was a recorded tape of Paranoid - Pretty awesome ! But for me that guitar sound was pretty stirring.

Yeah, for me I LOVE the First Six Sabbath's and "13"; I wore out the First Four on vinyl and had to get new ones Schenker, well I LOVE Scorpions "Lonesome Crow" as well as UFO "Phenomenon" and "Force It" as well as the first 4 MSG's.

It's a tie between Schenker and Iommi. I can find reasons for both.

Though I have, or had, recordings by Iommi & Schenker I was most influenced by Paul Kossoff's tone before style. He wasn't as fast as the other two but I preferred his tone - that's why I have a Remedy!

Schenker for me with UFO (strangers in the night) and of course MSG1, MSG2 & Assault Attack etc etc Yeah, I was in high school in the late 70's. That live album...Strangers In The Night...came out at a crucial development time in my guitar playing. He had such firepower in his playing...such aggressive attack of the music. When I play aggressive rock music...I'm channeling Schenker. (some Angus Y. in there too) And he had great tone too. Four input Marshalls....this was all before the JCM800.

Didn't Eric Clapton himself ask Koss about his vibrato? What a tragic loss

Tough choices , I struggled between Kossoff and Iommi but voted Koss in the end.

I voted for Koss too. Got to see Free a couple of times in the late '60's. Great players individually and as a band.....and they were so young. So sad that we lost Koss way too soon. Just can't imagine how great he would have become.......
