Hi All -
I'm wondering if anyone has done much experimenting with tubes in the Z-Verb?
I'm interested in tone changes and if a lower value tube in V1 would make the Z-Verb more subtle.
I tend to use mine set pretty low, it's fine but I do wonder if a 12at7 or something in V1 would give me a more range or if I'd just make everything quieter.
Just curious. So far it's been great with my 2000 Carmen Ghia and my other amps.
thanks!

I tried a 5751 in mine. It sounded fine but I can get the basic same results turning the controls down.

I put a conventional Sino 12ax7 Ruby in front and a five star GE 6201 in the recovery and had enough verb with the mix on zero. Had a few older tubes with some mileage on em and put a Mullard ecc83 in place of the Ruby and an RCA 12at7 instead of the five star, the results were much more of the smooth ambient type reverb which was more Motown than Malibu.

I ended up putting a 12at7 in my Z Verb as well and never looked back.
