Yep, my 3rd Ghia is enroute right now...should have it tomorrow. I have always loved the mighty little Ghia but in my haste to try other things they always get sold/traded. I bet I keep this one for a long time. Its a 1/10 combo in RED.

I'd love to get a few of our S.A./Austin Z-buds together and head up to DFW and hear that new Ghia in action.... Would be fun!!

Congrats. Is it loaded with the Red Fang? Mine was, I took it out and replaced it with the 10" Gold....fantastic speaker.

C'mon up maddog, the water's fine John yes it does have the Red Fang...which I suspect I will keep in there for a while if not indefinitely. I liked the added efficiency of a Fang in a Z28 I had a few years back...we do play rather loud so it will probably come in handy provided I like the tone. I've read you talk about the low mids of the Fang...will just have to see how it goes Friday night when it makes it's debut.

I really like the Red Fang in the EL84 Z-Amps especially with my Teles... not as much in the Z-28. But that's me.

Just fired up the new(to me) Ghia for a few minutes this afternoon...man this thing looks brand spankin new...Burnsy did me right on this it even sounds a bit "tight" like the speaker isn't broken in yet. I have an outdoor gig Friday night, I believe I'll try it out and see how it goes.

Well, after an unexpected tube failure, luckily I had some new EL84's at home and was able to get it back up and running for last nights backyard party. Red Fang is one loud speaker...I'm still inclined to think this one is not broke In yet, seems stiff and a bit harsh to me...not as much breakup as I'd come to expect from a Ghia...vol was up about 2pm on the dial, riding the guitar volume. Ended up using BD2 on all the time to get the breakup I wanted, occasionally switching out to a TS9. John may be right, another speaker may be in my future for this combo....I may hook it up to my PA head and run some bass heavy tunes through it for a few hours and see if that helps before I give up on it.

Just like the OP rcrecelius... my 3rd Ghia is enroute right now, and I should have it tomorrow. (It's blonde/tan, but it'll get swapped into my Z-28's black/tan headshell.. 'cuz I want that one to be blonde instead.)
Gonna make sure this one gets the proper tube treatment (a good 12AX7 in V1, a real 5751 in V2, and no JJ's in there) before I pass any judgement. Oh, yeah... and this time, it'll get played through a Blue and some Scumbacks. I'm prepared to "see the light" this time.

My very first Ghia is en route at this very moment, to arrive next Monday. Already planning a speaker swap as I have become a real fan of the Alnico Gold sound, and of course they do make a 10" now. Nice!

Nice! I'll be interested in your opinion. Is yours coming with the 10" red fang? Compared to your maz: A little more Marshally, and a little less chime.

I have a Gold on the way as well.
