Hey all, new guy here. I've had a Z28 for years, actually used this forum to help decide which Z I wanted. Got the 2x10 combo. Been on here many times since, mainly to see what type of speakers people use with the Z28. As much as I love the amp, the Dr Z 10 inch speakers don't suit my playing style. Even after breaking them in they are kind of tight. I'm a hobbyist, blues and jazz, the Z28 does the clean thing great. I started running the 28 thru the speaker in my Mission Amps tweed deluxe I built, a Weber 12A125A. I'll spare you all the descriptors (fat, woody, etc) just sounded great, very clean and natural. You all know this but any guitar / speaker combination with the Z28 is killer.

Glad to hear you found a speaker you like. I bet it's very "American" sounding with the Weber. Welcome to the forum. The '28 is a great amp and the cats here are pretty swell, too.

Welcome, "new guy" clearblue!
Yup, the Z-28 actually does well with lots of different speakers. I had great success with a Weber Signature 12B (sort of a 12F150 with a British-style cone) with my Z-28, but ultimately fell back to the G12H-30 Anniversary. Great amp.

Welcome, never really dug 10s just not my thing. I know lots of people dig them I just seem to like the fullness of 12s. G12h30 is what I've been using lately..

Ah, a "lurker" comes out into the light! Welcome! Z28 - absolute classic amp! Personally, I don't like the Red Fang with it (mid heavy amp, mid heavy speaker - not a great combination IMHO), and I have found the Weber Blue Pup /Dog Ceramics to be great speakers with this amp.) Don't go back to the "shadows" but share your experiences with us - the more the merrier

I agree that the weber blues are nice with this amp. I had the Blue alnico in my 28. Welcome CB, great forum.
