Was just wondering what speakers and cabs people are using with the z28 head?
Currently I'm using a shelled out Marshall 212 with Heritage G12Hs (55hz & 75hz)!

4-10 Openback w/Golds! What a coincidence Mark...There even happens to be one of those in the BST!! Ain't that something~ Z28 sounds awesome with one 12' Gold too! .......But the 4-10 Gold's is other worldly.

I prefer US voiced speakers with the Z-28 but the 1x12 Gold is very nice. Never tried a GB with it.

I prefer US voiced speakers with the Z-28 but the 1x12 Gold is very nice. Never tried a GB with it. I have used a Weber 12F150, 12" gold, 12" greenback, V30...heck even the matchless 2x12 with the mismatched speakers. The coolest thing about this amp? It sounds great with all of those. But right now, I like it with the greenback best - esp with a click or two on the brake-lite.

G12h30 right now, closed. I use to run a V30 closed which is nice as well. BUT last week I tried a gold and damn if it did not sound nice. I am going to have to revisit that soon.

I have a 1 x12 cab with a Creamback, a 1x12 cab with a Gold, and a 2x 10 cab with a Weber Silver Ten and Blue Pup - all Z cabs. All great options for different venues, bands/music, or guitars. A Z BrakeLite makes it more fun when volume is an issue.

Running a G12H30 currently but miss my 2x12 Avatar with V30 & Wizard. It was well voiced to cover everything. If I were to change I'd want to try the Creamback or Gold. I used to have the Gold 1x10 for my '28 and it sang.

Run my Z-28 thru an older Z 112 loaded w/V30 and an older Z 210 w/Z10s - using a Y-cable from PCNS (my eternal thanks to Todd and Patty) .... and I like to use the cabinets 'stacked' to better share my tones and tunes Imho, Z-28 (and several other Z Amps) sound best when running with multiple speakers ... ymmv, etc etc etc cheers always, eh Joel

Only used it with 1×12 cabinets so far, but I seem to like the Z-28 best with my Hellatone 30 (which is literally a well-broken-in G12H-30 Anniversary).
But, as others have said, this amp plays well with a variety of different speakers—even "American" ones. In fact, I was recently quite intrigued by using this amp through my Tone Tubby Red Alnico, as well... although I came back to the Celestion and still like it a bit better.

I think the g12h 55hz paired with the g12h 75hz provide a good balance of highs and lows to complement the mids of the z28...
