Finally snagged a Z28 after wanting one for a few years. I wish i would have gotten it sooner! It's everything it's hyped up to be. Great pedal platform. Nice sustain, smooth dirt and fat punchy cleans. I dig it! I ended up getting rid of my maz 8 for it and for me that was a good move. Much better amp for my needs. I think everybody should own one!

Yep, that's what "they say!" I've avoided it so far (buying a Z-28), but it gets tougher by the day....

Right on! Glad you were able to pick one up. Such a great amp with and without pedals.

Congrats on your '28!! It was my first and only Z (so far lol) . I love it. Even whenever I get any other amps, I know that it's still going to be my main go-to amp. Is it too much amp for me, being just a bedroom rocker? Probably, but that's what my attenuator is for. And it still sounds awesome! Even with the attenuator.

I agree - it has been my go to amp pretty much since I got it. The Remedy is great for BIG gigs (and I just got my Maz back from my son) but I just gravitate to the 28 - with the killer "often imitated never duplicated" Harvey Reams Wood Valance. Maybe that's why it sounds great!

Really like mine. I've had the Mazerati, Maz Jr, Maz Sr, and Stang Ray. They were all cool but the Z28 is just "right" for me. Most people say the Maz is the most versatile of the Z lineup, but for me I think it's the Z28.
I run mine with JJ 6V6's, which some say are more similar to a 6L6. I'd like to try a "real" 6V6. I also run it into a G12H30, but I have a Gold sitting around that I want to try., or maybe a Greenback. I have a feeling there are a lot of different tones to be explored with just these simple changes.

I may lean a little more toward the green with this amp. To me it gives it more of a vintage vibe.

I love my Z28 and recommend it to anyone looking to try a Z. 10 years ago I went to Wilcutt to try some Z initially wanting to try the Maz18. I tried the 28 and it stuck with me all this time until I finally picked one up. I run mine through an Avatar 2x12 loaded with greenies. Great amp!

I tried the 28 and it stuck with me all this time until I finally picked one up. I run mine through an Avatar 2x12 loaded with greenies. Great amp! Funny. I played a MAZ 18 at Willcutt years ago and IT stuck with me. Wanted one for many years. Saw a Z28 on Craigslist 2 years ago, went to check it out, took it home and have been rocking it ever since. I've since played other MAZ 18's, but like the 28 better.
Kinda the inverse of your story:-)

Just went through an M12, Stang Ray, and Maz 18 and landed on the Z-28. Finally at peace!
