Well worth checking out if you're into 'southern soul'. I pre-ordered The Royal Sessions on Amazon UK and it arrived today. I've been playing this stuff in bands since the 1960's, so this album was a must for me. Paul Rodgers is better known for his time with Free, Bad Company and, more recently, Queen, but he has a great 'soul' voice, so his decision to record an album of 'soul classics' was inspired.....and inevitable. Recorded at Royal Studios in Memphis, with a who's who of session musicians from Stax & Hi labels, it was bound to be good. I love it.....5 stars from me!! Here's a taster (a DVD of this came with the CD).

Oh Milky... That's just awesome. Love all the horns harmonies and the big Hammond growling behinds Paul's smokey voice.... That's some killer stuff there. Thanks for the heads-up! Now on my list.
