Anyone using an attenuator with the A dote? I had a Rem years ado and had the Z brake and even at one click it seemed to kill or a least blanket the oomph punch and well you know the Rem has (it was the brake lite -any diff with the bigger brake unit)? I do live on 2 acres and will be able to crank an A dote but would like to be able to enjoy some crunch at lesser volumes too.

I think a few folks do, it's a good idea because the dote will make yer ears bleed...

Doc says the Brakelite is safe to use with the 'Dote. They tested and everything.

I'm using one with mine...two clicks, and adjust to taste. I wondered the same thing, with it being a 45 watt beast. I used it at a gig recently, where the amp and brakelight were on for 6 hours straight...and no explosions occurred. However, when using at the house, still on two clicks, I noticed a ripe plastic burning sort of smell in the room, and held up the brake light and it was stanky for sure, and pretty warm...not hot, but warm. But my spidey senses tell me that that's just the BL doing its job...I had this exact same question though...I'm going with YES, IT'S OKAY to use it...just hang an air freshener near the BL to cover the aroma of rock!
