Hey Guys, I'm a long time lurker here at Z -talk, but don't post a whole lot. I've got an Intertstate Route that is fantastic, but I've started to get some scratchiness in the treble and bass pots. I hate to sound like a total novice, but just wondering what is the best way to access the pots to get them cleaned up? Thanks for any input! John

Its a bit of work, but not difficult. Its probably worth paying a good tech to do it, but everybody has a different comfort level for DIY stuff. It takes me about 45 minutes. You need to know how to drain the filter caps cause you'll be working inside. First, you remove the knobs (loosen the set screw with a jewellers screwdriver) Then I loosen the chassis screws and pull the chassis. Once you're inside, loosen the hex bolts on the pot that hold the pots to the chassis (on the outside/faceplate side) then pull them gently out without disturbing the wires. I hold them in a paper towel and spray deoxit into them, then reinstall. replace chassis and knobs and you're done.

Hey thanks for the response zdogma! I think I will take your advice and leave this one to a professional amp tech, I'm afraid this one may be beyond me. I really don't want to risk screwing up my 66 for sure. Thanks, john
